film: THE RETREAT
just want to take a moment to congratulate my lovely comrade- as in fellow fairfieldian- for his latest achievement. fucking awesome zac. very exciting!!!
THE RETREAT is playing at the Atlanta Film Festival where it is one of 7 films nominated for best Narrative short film. If you're in the Atlanta area or have friends or family in the area, come support the film or help get the word out.
THE RETREAT is screening in a Program entitled Where The Road Takes You, with 2 other short films:
Harthi Larka (Elephant Boy) (28 min.)
The film is a fictionalized account of the real life journey of Rajesh 'Jai' Kumar, a severely disabled beggar who escaped his harsh city life. A dream inspires him to make a prayer on a sacred hill in the hope for a better life. The role is played by Rajesh himself and other Mumbai (Bombay) street children. No special make-up effects were used. 'Elephant Boy' won the Best International Film at the LA Shorts Fest, was nominated for a UK BAFTA award, and is being developed as a feature.

Hiro (20 min.)-After a chance encounter with a young girl, a shy Japanese insect collector finds himself thrust into a wild chase to recover a stolen beetle
